War Wizard welcomed hometown fans for the first annual Monster Truck challenge event for one night of action at Bristol Motor Speedway. The event hosted over 10 monster trucks competing in racing and freestyle action, with Randy Moore in War Wizard setting the fastest qualifying time of 34.93 seconds, ahead of Mark Hall in Raminator at 35.12, and Dan Patrick in Samson with a run of 37.52. Racing was rained out, and Randy continued into freestyle clinching 2nd after a wild freestyle.
