WAR WIZARD Rocks The House at RPM FEST
June 3rd, 2009
This past weekend the War Wizard Race Team headed North to La Porte, Indiana for three days of competition against a large field of 15 other monster trucks in what was dubbed as RPM FEST.
Joel Carmack, Justin Walker, and Randy Moore's son Adair joined forces to maintain and fix any issues that might of popped up over the weekend.
The event consisted of all types of racing from mud drags, lawn mower racing, tractor pulls, and even included the original monster truck of them all - BIGFOOT #1, plus the tallest monster truck of all - BIGFOOT #5.
Monster truck action over the weekend consisted of head to head racing and individual freestyle.
Friday evening the team suffered a tranny break right off of the starting line. The entire crew wrenched on the truck all of Saturday morning and would be back in action for vengeance on Saturday night.
As the sun went down Saturday evening, WAR WIZARD Racing had their act together. Racing competition saw WAR WIZARD take down Havoc in the first round of action. The second round of action paired WAR WIZARD against the legendary BIGFOOT. In a very close race it was Randy Moore edging out BIGFOOT at the finish line. WAR WIZARD then went to the line against Greg Adams in Eliminator. Elimator was quickly elimated by over a truck length at the finish line, sending Randy Moore info the racing finals. WAR WIZARD was now in the finals against Jon Zimmer behind the wheel of Amsoil Shock Therapy. Randy Moore cut a great reaction time at the starting line and beat Zimmer by half a truck length, clinching a win at the first annual RPM FEST against a very strong field of competitors.
WAR WIZARD continued to outperform the competition in freestyle on Saturday night. Getting the biggest air of the weekend, crazy donuts, slap wheelies, and lots of speed easily put Randy in contention for the freestyle win. Then, Bounty Hunter came out with Jimmy Creten behind the wheel. Jimmy put down a fantastic, solid run and bumped WAR WIZARD into second place in freestyle.
"I'm proud of our entire team this weekend. We wanted to win here. We had issues on Friday night, but I knew my guys from Bristol would get this truck back into action for Saturday night. They did their part, and I did mine. This was a very difficult field of trucks to go up against. My drag racing experience helped a lot on this straight-line course, and our entire team simply did a fantastic job." said an enthusiastic Randy Moore, owner and driver of WAR WIZARD from his Bristol, Tennessee race shop.
Sunday night results put Randy Moore in 4th place in racing out of a field of 16, and a 3rd place freestyle finish.
